No news yet from Ministry of Public Service about the GNT – NWU

PRESS RELEASE –
The National Workers Union (NWU) is concerned and surprised that to date it has not received any official communication from the Ministry of the Public Service regarding the appointment of a Chairman for the Government Negotiating Team (GNT) nor the composition of the Team.

The NWU says that this situation does not augur well for the relationship that exists between the Ministry of the Public Service and the NWU.

Given the time frame that was suggested by the National Workers Union at the last meeting with a Cabinet Sub Committee led by the Prime Minister, it is imperative that urgent attention is given to expedite matters.

  1. Still holding his nose perhaps, Mr. Hinkson may be very conflicted by the nauseating betrayal of the people by the government. He therefore appears to have become immobilized by due caution.

  2. Clueless about how to solve economic problems, Kenny went to the other Heads of Government for help. He repeated loud and clear and quite often too, "We are in this together". To that, they did not even say "fooenk".

The disease of the debt has many sides which leaves novices at their wits end. The are in a comlicated environment that they have absolutely no training to deal with.

The situation calls not for just one single type of pill or remedy or just one single does to bring about a cure for Kenny's financial disease, which is a combined ignorance of advanced business, advanced public finance, and advanced economics laced with undisputed arrogance.

Next his closeness with Cuba and Venezuela is poison pill for cautious investors. There are much safer non-socialist environments to invest money than in Saint Lucia's declining business environment.

The education level and systems in Saint Lucia are not geared to preparing the school-leavers to be involved in any serious level of manufacturing which today is concentrated in high-tech low quality technology.

How many engineering courses has similarluy clueless George Odlum's spectacular creation for education minister seen fit to ever introduce to Saint Lucia? That was a world trend then. That escaped them both. That is still the focal point of higher education today.

Kenny, in this regard is as good as his country boy counterpart Bousquet. Same crap for a different day. Industrial level thinking? Clueless.

  3. I don't think the government know how to deal with the situation seems they are just marking time waiting for mana(or money) to fall from the sky while the people drown themselves in Bounty and Heineken.

    • The current prime minister and minister of finance are totally irrelevant to the situation being faced by the country today, except as the creators of this continued caving of the economy.

The more time they occupy these positions the less clearer the future of the country. This, if correctly understood is the undisputed truth.

In fact, they have totally outlived their usefulness, they not having any value or relevance to the growth and positive future of this country.

  4. I do hope that the Government understands that dirty tactics and smoke screens would just compound our problems further. Doing that would be like shoving the stick further up Civil servants A.. which i guarantee you would lead to a strike further compounding the countrys fiscal problems. The people already feal unfaired and iltreated using such tactics would just bring about more badwill. Why hasnt Mr Hinkson come out to say something as yet.

  5. So why is the Press secretary and the Minister of Finance so silent when they were telling us the bonds are due to the investors at the end of July. The 18 million was needed to pay investors to have savings for other critical issues and the civil servants had to sacrifice. What happened this month that caused them to be quiet to not activate the GNT.

  6. Give the PM a break. The man is very busy attending to meetings. That helps to grow GDP, even if that is the GDP of other countries. You people are not being fair to the man at all.

  7. Thats because his 5% smoke screened mission has failed. He is now looking for a new strategy to tie your hands behind your back. Like the saying goes "behind back OUT." I guess that you have not appreciated the calibre of the indiviual that you are dealing with.Just waint and see don't say you were not WARNED.
