Former Caribbean Soca Monarch Jonathan ‘Ninja Dan’ St. Rose appeared once more in the court of Justice Francis Cumberbatch in relation to the February 2009 death of Dwayne ‘Chubby’ James.
James was stabbed multiple times at Arundel Hill, Marchand on Saturday, February 14, 2009. According to the post mortem conducted on Monday, February 16, Chubby died of haemorrhagic shock secondary to multiple stab wounds.
St. Rose alongside co-defendants Lyden Blasse and Marvin Terry Nelson made their second appearance of the week for pre trial conferencing, which was conducted in a closed session and then adjourned to Monday March 11, 2013.
St. Rose is known for popular soca hits like ‘Labouway’, ‘Outside Man’ and ‘Rise’. He won the Caribbean Soca Monarch competition in 2007 and is a multiple finalist at the National Soca Monarch Competition.
The artiste has been a strong proponent of the anti-violence campaign and is a founding member of RISE St Lucia Inc. ( RISE is an acronym for Respect, Reality Initiative, Industry Social Health, Society building Education, Enterprise, Empowerment.)
