(PRESS RELEASE) – The Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA) has employed a three-prong system to ensure a sustainable waste management solution for the community of Ciceron.

The collection service was improved which involved using curbside collection as much as possible. The collection points were staggered in order to reduce the volume of garbage reaching any one point, and the SLSWMA has made moves to improve the regularity of collection in the area.

Recently, waste management officers educated the general public on waste disposal methods, schedules and locations. The SLSWMA is also working with the general public, and reached out to the CCC to provide better policing of the area in order to encourage residents to remain resolute in better solid waste management practices.
