The 2015 Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division campaign is underway in England, and at least one Saint Lucian is involved, over at Latimer Park.
Earlier this year, 23-year-old fullback Melanius Daniel Mullarkey made his international debut with Saint Lucia in the Windward Islands Men’s Football Championship.
He impressed sufficiently to play a role in the island team’s unfortunately brief foray into the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 qualifiers against Antigua-Barbuda.
Now, Danny is with Kettering Town Football Club, who announced his signing earlier this month. The Poppies, under coach Marcus Law, are Evo-Stik League newcomers.
According to a release from KTFC, “The club is delighted to confirm the registration of Melanius Mullarkey who was scouted for Birmingham City at a young age, playing five years with their youth setup, before moving on to Coventry City.
“Mullarkey, travelled to Cyprus to play for Limmasol but returned to the United Kingdom, and has made appearances for Banbury United, Bedworth United, Long Buckby, Rugby Town and Corby Town. He made his debut for Saint Lucia in May.”
