  1. SLP supporters, this is really getting old, every time there is a change in the price of gas you repeat the same stupid comment. Just to remind you we are still waiting for Kenny to tell us why Richard’s VISA was withdrawn.

Denying the fact that the world price of oil does not impact the local price does not only signifies your ignorance but proves you a complete imbecile.

The issue with the SLP is that the world price dropped but the price went up.

By the way the orange match will not happen again, it was a UWP match, why don’t you have a BROWN match and you do know what is brown and stinks.

  2. I think that we are conveniently muddling the two issues. The UWP protested against the method used for calculating gas prices. All were in agreement that in light of falling oil prices at the time it was taking to long for the people to enjoy these savings. Hence the UWP took issue with the longer term hedging of the prices which made it difficult to feel any immediate reduction in world prices. This is why immediately after the protest there was a reduction since the SLP government had curtailed the hedging by making adjustments more regularly.

Whether Chastanet removes taxes completely on gas or not that still would not stop the world prices from increasing. Therefore it is baseless that we continue such cheap political nonsensical arguments about what he may or may not have promised.

So with Chastanet or no Chastanet are we suggesting that we should have stayed with the method that existed previously?

Whether is Mickey Pilgrim, Vaughn Lewis or Compton all that is needed at any particular time is a method that will make citizens save on prices as soon as they are available on the world market. We do not produce gas or oil in St. Lucia.

However, I still understand why people would suggest illogical reasons just to have their man look better. Politics makes people stupid and makes stupid people political. They go hand in hand.

    • There are no muddling of issues. Suddenly, you all have all twist and turns to explain dishonesty. To all the fools who believe that Chastenet would reduce gas by %6.80 keep believing. Keep believing that the 2.5% reduction in VAT has improved your financial position, ....while Sandals, OJO labs, CHEATTY, Teo is King, and all the rest eat the entire apply pie......I am sure you can enjoy the crumbs that fall off their table.

Keep believing in the 5 that will bury you alive.....Chastenet is the Pied Piper will led you the land of milk and honey

  4. So why out of all things Chastanet is dragging his feet to sign the document to freeze the price of fuel. That's not all chastanet. You also took St. Lucians to the streets to protest against what you said were high fuel prices. How do you call what just happen there? God forbade the prices go up at the next adjustment. That would be the demise of Chastanet - for all his drama over nothing. St lucians were truly duped by this blind bat chastanet.

  5. But I thought the price of gas was inflated by $6.80 under Labour. Where is the $6.80 saving we were promised. Gas is now FIXED at $12.75! Government gave us a 2.5% reduction in VAT and a 60% increase in the tax on gas. That's the reality!

  6. St.Lucians always complaining alot of you'll need to live in third world countried, but oh i forgot St.Lucia is classified as a third world country. The country have to run unless St.Lucia can print their own monies.

    • You are one hell of an ignorant ass. The prices are going up, in part, because the world market price has now become affected by the Texas flooding. Dumb ass, read about what is going on before you make the rest of us look like complete idiots. A village is missing its idiot.

      (12)(8)

      • You are the ignorant one.

Because you don't understand that the UWP told us the SLP was stealing the gas money. Charging more than the market price. Stealing $2.60 on every Gallon of gas without accounting for it.

Now we change the Government they raise the price of gas. So the conclusion is that they are stealing on every Gallon or the SLP was not stealing.

The man just want a simple answer but they, like you, will never answer, instead start calling people names. When people call for accountable you'll start insulting.

        (7)(2)

        • Technically, the price mechanism that was being used by the SLP was a 'moving average'. The number of months it used to calculate the prices at that time of the protests were too many.

That is why people were not seeing any benefit in the world price decrease fuels. They were right to protest. SLP does not understand numbers.

Not even the numerically-challenged SLP ministers could understand the statistics used in the pricing system that was set up back then. Therefore, no questions were asked. DSH provides convincing proof that SLP remains a mathematically challenged group. Even now!!!!!!

      • You not readingTexas has nothing to do with it. They saw the window of opportunity an ran with it. Half of Texas refinery are back online besides there was more than enough in reserves to offset any price hike it's greed AS USUAL. Of course as long as gas price goes up everything else goes up poor people under more pressure
