Emergency groups from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) are currently on standby due to the inclement weather being experienced on island.

A tropical wave passing over the island has produced scattered showers and heavy rainfall in some parts of the island including Odsan, which is reportedly flooded.

The Saint Lucia Meteorological Office is therefore advising residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides, to remain vigilant since the grounds are already saturated.

Persons are also being urged to be vigilant for flooded areas and some moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms during the next several hours.

Acting Prime Minister Dr. Gale Rigobert is also encouraging citizens to report any persons at risk who are living in vulnerable areas to the relevant community emergency group.

The weather is likely to remain the same for then remainder of the day.
