Executives of the National Water and Sewerage Commission (NWSC) will be meeting with members of the media on Friday, September 26 in one of a series of “Getting to know the Commission” sessions planned for the next couple of weeks.
The meeting is aimed at creating greater awareness about the commission’s functions, its roles and responsibilities, and how it serves the wider Saint Lucian public. It also aims to establish and nurture fruitful relationships with all stakeholders moving forward.
The NWSC is the agency responsible for regulating the delivery of water and sewerage supply services throughout St. Lucia. The agency was established by the Water and Sewerage Act, Chapter 9.03 of the Revised Laws of St. Lucia of 2008.
Two of the core functions and powers of the NWSC are: establishing and approving tariff schemes (water rates) and resolving consumers’ complaints.
