National Water and Sewerage Commission pledges $1500 to NCF

PRESS RELEASE – The National Water and Sewerage Commission (NWSC) has joined the corporate community in making its contribution to the National Community Foundation.

For the first time on October 5, 2014, the Commission pledged a $1500 donation to the Foundation.

This signifies the first step for the Commission to making meaningful contributions to activities aimed at community outreach.

The National Water and Sewerage Commission takes its social responsibility seriously and views this as one of the ways in which it is able to contribute to the future development of Saint Lucia.

According to the Commission’s Executive Director, Kelly Joseph the Commission is very pleased to pledge its support to the National Community Foundation.

He notes that this is the first step to a mutually beneficial relationship with the NCF and the people it serves.

  1. The Commission's revenue is obtained as prescribed by the Water and Sewerage Act and includes: Sums from application or service license fees and other charges imposed by the Commission,Levy collected by any service licensee and sums allocated by Parliament.

  2. The frustration of the Saint Lucians who depend on Wasco's water is remarkable. The Wasco collects payment from us and, in return, provides mostly muddy water. More often than not the water is unavailable in our pipes. Wasco guarantees a certain percentage of the collected amount to the useless Water Commission which shares it's wealth with the National Community Foundation.
