The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries has announced that the National Tourism Public Speaking Competition scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, at the Royal Saint Lucian by Rex Resorts, has been postponed due to the current weather situation.
“Pending a change in weather conditions, the new date will be announced,” the Ministry said in a press release.
This, as locals seeks to prepare for the storm which is on course to affect the island by Tuesday morning.
Moderate to heavy showers, winds and thunderstorms are expected in the next 24-48 hours.
Residents living in areas prone to flooding and landslides have been advised to take all necessary precautions.
