Scott Octave, 27, was arrested and charged with eight counts of burglary after an investigation was launched into the break-in of Builders Choice store in La Fargue, Choiseul in late September.
Several electronic tools valued at $16,112.32 were stolen from the store, police said.
During the probe, police said they recovered goods valued at $25,000 from Octave who they have also connected to burglaries in Laborie, Choiseul and Soufriere.
Police said five of the burglaries took place at Builders Choice in Choiseul, while the others occurred at Nicholas Gas Station in La Fargue; Belle Vue Farmers Co-Operative in Myers Bridge, Soufriere; the Piaye’s branch of the Saltibus Co-Operative Credit Union; and the R&D’s Gas station at Piaye.
Octave was offered $12,000 bail or a suitable surety when he appeared in court on Tuesday, Oct. 2. He is however in police custody because he is unable to meet his bail conditions.
Other conditions of his bail include reporting to the Choiseul Police station every Monday, and not to apply for travelling documents without the court’s permission.
The case has been adjourned to Oct. 10.
