PRESS RELEASE – Welfare & Social Transformation Officers of the Southern Regional Office of the Ministry of Social Transformation, Local Government & Community Empowerment facilitated the handing over of sixteen (16) boxes of grocery items to deserving families in time for the festive season.
Radio St. Lucia, through their Christmas Kaleidoscope programme, made contact with Southern Welfare Officer – Mrs. Michelle Edwide-Duplessis, and Social Transformation Officers for Laborie and Vieux-Fort North – Mr. Faisal and Ms. Rene respectively, to identify clients to benefit from the good cheer.
The staff of Radio St. Lucia lauded the donations of the people of the south who provided a significant amount of items during their efforts to fill a barrel of groceries when the station went on a food drive. As such they were pleased, and felt it fitting that this presentation was being made to needy families in the south.
Today, the radio station staff presented clients with parcels containing groceries at a small informal ceremony at the Ministry’s Vieux-Fort Office.
The donations supplied will benefit approximately forty two (42) beneficiaries. Staff of the Ministry welcomed the opportunity to partner with Radio St. Lucia and look forward to this type of collaboration in the future.
