More Veterans Football at the weekend

PRESS RELEASE –
Three of the four scheduled matches in the 2014 Veterans Football Tournament scheduled at the weekend at the Marchand Grounds was played.

On Saturday Vieux Fort South booked their place into the next stage of the tournament with their second win in as many matches when they drubbed Mabouya Valley Six goals to nil. They had won the first encounter 2-0 vs Gros Islet.

In the other match played Saturday evening Laborie Veterans had a three goals to one win over Nyabinghi.

Only one of the two matches scheduled for last evening was played.The match between Desruisseaux and Lancers FC was not played as Desruisseaux did not show up for their encounter. Instead Caricom Masters and Lancers FC played a friendly encounter which Caricom Masters won 5-1.

The second match of the evening saw defending champions VSADC complete a comfortable 2-0 win over Micoud to book their place in the next stage of the Tournament their second win in as many matches.

Action in the tournament continues this coming weekend with another set of matches scheduled for the Marchand Grounds.
