The Monchy Development Committee (MDC) is preparing to host its second annual Christmas Carol Singing Festival.
This event promises to be exciting as the committee aims to provide an atmosphere for families to attend and partake in the festivities, in an effort to restore the spirit of Christmas in the community.
Last year’s event under the patronage of Honourable Emma Hippolyte was a huge success.
For the first time ever, the Monchy Square was decorated with Christmas lights, many choirs performed, and children were presented with toys. A Christmas message was shared and the night ended with Karaoke.
The main attraction was however the Bois Defay Drama Group, which had the crowd up in arms with laughter.
This year, MDC has arranged to have Santa Claus present to distribute toys and to take out photos with the children.
Choirs from churches and schools in the Gros-Islet constituency have been invited to be a part of this auspicious event, which will be held at the Monchy Square on Sunday December 14th 2014 from 3:00p.m.
President of the Committee, John Cherubin invites residents of the communities of Monchy, Desrameaux, Cai Mange, Lafeuille, Vieux Secure, La Borne, Ravine Ma Cock, Magretoute, and Riviere Mitan to save the date.
Residents are further encouraged to drop off non-perishable items to the administrator at the Monchy Human Resource Development Centre, prior to the event to assist in feeding the elderly and shut-in this Christmas.
MDC welcomes sponsorship of any kind to event as we seek to make this a bigger and better festival each year.
