This was revealed in a release from the main organizer – the Folk Research Centre.
“Vieux Fort was one of the two host communities for last year’s activities and the community has decided to host Jounen Kweyol again in 2013 because of the overwhelming success in 2012,’ the release said.
The centre said it is still in the process of finalizing the schedule of activities for the month of October. These will include cultural education programmes for children and adults with well-known cultural personalities and activities in several other communities. The La Wenn Kweyol, a kweyol performance poetry competition will also be a feature, among other events.
Creole Heritage Month will culminate with Jounen Creole on October 27, 2013.
