PRESS RELEASE – The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations is adopting a proactive approach in the management of Pertusis/Whooping Cough of which one case has been recorded in the region.
As a result, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) held two workshops at two separate venues on Thursday July 23,2015 where more than 150 health professionals serving all the regions were enlightened on the clinical situation relating to Pertusis.
Medical Surveillance Officer, Dr. Michelle Francois-D’Auvergne and PAHO Advisor on Immunization for the Caribbean Sub Region were the main facilitators at the workshops.
