PRESS RELEASE – Mizik Mele Melange Creole Pageant is in its second year and is taking Creole to a new level with the introduction of the Madras Carpet, an idea visualized and created by the Mizik Mele Melange group aimed at propelling the Madras Carpet at a level beyond the traditional and ordinary ‘Red’ Carpet to complement the drive to propel our creole heritage and culture.
Patrons coming to the event are encouraged to dress in creole sack, madras or other creole theme attire while traipsing the Madras Carpet and taking part in media interviews (in Creole) with an opportunity to win prizes.
The Madras Carpet was made by Miss Jean Cooper form the heartland of cultural creativity, Choiseul.
The Madras Carpet walk will also feature a Creole Wedding Fashion Show by designer Sharleen Lagoon accompanied by performances of Creole music by Prosper and crew.
The event is being held at the Gaiety-on-Rodney-Bay, Saturday 27th September from 7.00 p.m. with the Madras Carpet Walk followed by the Pageant. On conclusion of the Pageant entertainment will be provided by ‘RYCO LOZA’ and his Kompa Band from Martinique and our very own Secret Sola Band.
