PRESS RELEASE – In the year 2000 the Youth Development Class of the University of the West Indies, designed a week of activities under the theme, “The Commonwealth and You”.
The project was endorsed by and held under the distinguished patronage of her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, Governor General of Saint Lucia.
The project was geared towards creating among our youth, awareness of the simplicity of the Commonwealth’s values and principles (as enshrined in the Harare Declaration: Peace, Equality, Diversity, Equity, Participation, Development, Democracy, Empowerment, Human Rights, Dialogue and Cooperation) and how they can impact on your day-to-day living.
