A St. Lucian minister has been chosen to deliver the feature address at the regional launch of the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (CARCIP) in Grenada on June 26, 2013.
Under the theme “Addressing Caribbean Development Challenges through Regional ICT Connectivity” Minister for the Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, James Fletcher, will present the address.
Ministers of technology from Jamaica, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and representatives from the World Bank, Caribbean Telecommunications Union and ECTEL are also expected to address the function.
The objective of CARCIP is to increase access to regional broadband networks and advance the development of information and communication technology (ICT) and ICT-enabled services, a release states.
St. Lucia launched a CARCIP programme at the Soufriere Community Access Centre on April 17, 2013.
