Micoud Library to host Breast Cancer Awareness Health Fair

PRESS RELEASE – The Micoud Library Group invites the public to attend its Breast Cancer Awareness Health Fair on Saturday October 1st 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Micoud Community Centre.

Free health screenings such as blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), blood glucose, PAP smears, prostate exams, breast examinations and HIV rapid testing will be available.

The blood bank will be on the compound for persons who are willing to donate blood. All screenings and measurements will be conducted privately, and the results will be released only to you.

Also at the health fair, we’ll be highlighting services available to help you or a loved one manage these illnesses and to allow you to talk to physicians and other health care providers. There will be demonstrations on how to prepare nutritious meals and drinks.

On sale will be Pink merchandize; T shirts, pens, key rings, pendants, pins as part of fundraising efforts for the St. Lucia Cancer Society.

The Public is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to receive free testing, to ask questions, and to be informed. A little change makes a big difference.
