Median cleaning continues this weekend; road works commence in Rodney Bay

PRESS RELEASE – The motoring public is advised that the Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport will continue cleaning of the median of the four lane carriageway between the Choc and Vigie Roundabouts, on Saturday November 22nd and Sunday November 23rd 2014.

Motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution in that vicinity, by slowing down and paying close attention to all traffic signs in the area, advising to keep to the left lane only.

As such the right lane of the sections undergoing cleaning will be closed to traffic to facilitate the cleaning. This means in those sections, traffic will only be facilitated in the left hand lane of both carriageways, as both sides of the median will be cleaned simultaneously.

The Ministry apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the motoring public, as it seeks to free the median of grime and buildup of dirt, making the median more visible and the roadway safer for driving.

The ministry is also informing the motoring and general public that it will be conducting road work on the shoulders of the Castries/Gros Islet Highway, in the vicinity of the Rodney Bay marina.

The work will commence today, Nov. 20, and will continue for a period of two weeks. No significant interruptions to traffic is expected, however, road users are advised to exercise caution in the area.

The Ministry would like to thank the general public for its patience during this period and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
