(SNO) – A Martinique man has been hospitalised after he was rescued at sea about two nautical miles off Roseau, St. Lucia, according to reports.

The man has been identified as Francois Lubin Christopher.

Reports are that Christopher left Martinique for St. Lucia on Friday, June 15,  but his boat developed mechanical issues on the way.

He reportedly jumped overboard after drifting for sometime, and on Saturday, several hours later, was picked up by the Cunard Carnival that was passing in the area.

The rescue ship contacted the relevant authorities on St. Lucia.

They then took Christopher from Cunard Carnival and transported him to Victoria Hospital via ambulance.
