A 24-year-old man who has been missing for almost two weeks has returned home unhurt.
The Gros Islet Police Station confirmed on Monday, May 19 that Kerry Marius returned home around 7 p.m. that night.
Kerry Marius, from Marisule, Gros Islet was reported missing by his family on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at about 11 p.m. Six days after, police disseminated a press statement seeking the public’s assistance on Marius’ whereabouts.
Sources close to the man’s family told Saint Lucia News Online (SNO) that he may have been in Martinique, but did not provide an explanation to his family, as to where he was all this time.
The day he went missing, Marius had told his girlfriend that he was in Dennery.
His relatives later filed a missing person’s report with the police, after he was not seen for more than 48 hours.
Relatives were concerned that he might be in trouble, especially since a few persons had gone missing most recently and was later found dead.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2014, a man’s body was discovered near the Marisule Beach. Police told media that the deceased was found by a passerby at about 2:30 p.m. and appeared to have been covered.
