The archdiocese has granted debt relief to the Marchand church which incurred a debt of $50,083 over a three-year period.
According to Archbishop Robert Rivas, the decision was taken by the church in order for the parish to grow.
The Sacred Heart Parish is not off the hook completely though: they have other debts to the Archdioceses.
Archbishop Rivas has called on the parishioners to step in as a collective to pay off a debt of $10,000, which represents the value of alter supplies, bread, wines and candles taken from the chancellery.
