Marchand emerged champions of the 2013 FA Cup Football Tournament put on by the St Lucia Football Association in association with Winners TV.
In the final played last Saturday evening at the Beausejour Cricket Ground, Marchand defeated Mabouya, 4-3, on penalties after the match ended 1-1 at regulation and extra time.
Jarvis Joseph scored an own-goal on Marchand in the 66th minute and Lincoln Philip equalized in the 73rd minute. In the penalty shoot out to decide the winners, Marchand kept their nerve and ran out 6-5 winners.
For their victory, Marchand received the FA Cup, $12,000 and gold medals. Second place Mabouya received $7,000 dollars, a trophy and silver medals.
In the third-place playoff, Soufriere defeated Vieux Fort South, 2-1. Sege Felix scored in the 2nd and 20th minutes for Soufriere and Sheldon Emmanuel in the 73rd minute for Vieux Fort South.
Soufriere took home $3,000, a trophy and bronze medals. Fourth-placed Vieux Fort South collected $1,500 and a trophy.
In the final of the under-16 tournament, Castries emerged champions, defeating Micoud, 4-2.
Goal scorer for Castries: Bradley Cyril in the 14th and 27th minutes; Aavian Girard in the 32nd minute and Damian Louis in the 37th minute. For Micoud, Nikolos Celestin in the 10th minute and Roshard Joseph in the 70th minute.
In the third-place playoff, Vieux Fort South defeated Soufriere 3-1; Noah Nicholas scored in the 5th and 51st minutes for Vieux Fort South and Riquelme Sylvester in the 61st minute for Soufriere.
