Man wounded by woman on Dennery farmland

A man was wounded by a woman during an altercation this morning on a farmland in Dennery Valley.

The woman is accused of chopping the man with a cutlass at about 7:45 a.m. on a farm in Bosque D’or.

Police sources say the woman reported the matter to the Richfond Police Station, alleging that the man hit her with a stick on her back and she retaliated by striking him with a cutlass she had in her possession.

According to the sources, the woman said she was not sure where she struck the man. The ambulance took the injured man to hospital. His injuries are not serious, sources say.

“I suspect it is over land… they are waiting for him at the police station to give his side of the story,” a source said.

The sources say no arrest will be made until the police receive official statements from both parties.

  2. It is an elderly lady who was attacked on her farm by a younger man. She is not a violent person. She is a christian. She have had her farm there for more than 30 years. She acted in self defence.Dont b too quick to judge.

  5. it was not for land....I repeat no land dispute........ He attacked her on her farm with a post not a stick.....she had the cutlass nearby so so she use it to defend herself. After which she went to the police station to report the matter and seek medical attention for the culprit. He will learn not to come to a gunfight with a knife.....and this was an elderly lady in her 70s. ... She should have chopped every appendage of his body.....

    • I wonder how big the 'stick' was...The man so macho he attack the woman with a stick and she had a cutlass? What is a stick compared to a cutlass lol...he probably thought she was just going to stand there and take blows and not turn her farming tool to a weapon of defense...and I can imagine he had to ran for his life...lool..now his friends might laugh

  11. What?

St Lucian women are now showing the manly side.

I can remember my uncle was chopped whilst sleeping at his home many years ago by a woman, when he ended the relationship.
She couldn't deal with the rejection, broke into his house and began butchering.
Luckily, my uncle called out to neighbours who came to his aid.

    He never filed charges.
    Still bears the scars.
    smh

  14. i commend the lady involved for bringing herself in. thats a very dignified move. However there are too many St.Lucians getting into disputes over lan. my problem is that that only piece of land you leave this earth with is six feet deep. It was meant for everyone to enjoy.
