Man stabbed repeatedly while getting off bus with child

St. Lucia News Online (SNO) has received reports that a young man was allegedly slashed/stabbed repeatedly in the face and head while getting off a bus with his child in Bois Patat, Castries recently.

According to reports, the victim was getting off a bus on his way home with his child, when he was allegedly attacked by another young man with a knife.

He received multiple wounds to his face. Several passengers were smeared with blood during the ordeal.

To avoid harm to his child, sources say the victim had to throw his child on a passenger in the bus.

He was transported to hospital. The attacker is said to be on the run.

SNO contacted the police who said they have no knowledge of the incident. An officer indicated many incidents have not been reported to the police.

  2. It is really a shame that the once blessed and wonderful st.lucia has surcome to such blood shed, hatred and lies. If this is not taken seriously and the public, gov and police are not proactive then whats to become of us. Crime should be 00000 tolorance. Y doesnt China have all this crime?? Figure it out!!! Whatever measures r to be taken to fight crime so be it. Its because we dont pray we r so short tempered. What ever happened to 'sorry' 'it was a misunderstanding' 'lets pray'.

    • Then recommend Mexico, but tell them to be careful though cuz they may lose your heads...literally.

    • Where would you send them?..Mexico? Jamaica? Brazil?...Where would you recommend? Surely not the US of A with all that Gun violence going on...Surely not Canada with that Blistering cold...Surely not England who's being watched by terrorists & I'm sure England is not too friendly to blacks anyways...Mrs.Lolly plz recommend a few good places because I'm in need of a CRIME FREE vacation spot.

      • Say what you will - the US is at least child friendly and I don't think that a bus full of civilians will allow an idiot to stab the child's guardian. Conflict resolution is in demand in St. Lucia in a big way. Perhaps it can be added to the school curriculum and for others maybe Sam Flood can reach them. Some citizens continue to affect tourism and create a bad name for such a beautiful island.

    • Mrs Lolly worst things happen everywhere else ..so give your mouth a break St Lucia is still no.1 compared to other countries..name one country with less crime than St Lucia CHOOPS!!

    • Mrs. Lolly, You read about violence in Saint Lucia and you are quick to talk about not recommending Saint Lucia to anyone. Frankly I think we are much safer here in Sweet Saint Lucia as compared to places like the US where you don't even know when a psycho will decide to surpass the previous psycho with their mass murder sprees..Like someone said show me somewhere that is without crime..

  5. It starts early on. General incivility and petty crime unpunished eventually leads to armed robberies, stabbings etc. look at how dirty a lot of st lucia is. You don't even put your litter away properly.

Here's how to solve it - punish offenders HARD. Then stop having children without mothers/fathers. In about 15 years you might be alright!

      • Don't get so touchy, what do you disagree with? Do you think you can wave a magic wand and this crime will disappear? We're not talking stealing a loaves of bread.

We will be reading stories like this for years to come, I'm afraid.

  6. When criminals stoop to putting CHILDREN in harm's way then it's all over!! He saw that the target was carrying his child but that did not stop him!! I say we need to bring back hanging and the lolo bef!! That might deter some of them!

    • That's what I always say. We need to seek God and obey His Word. That in itself will change us so we know how to deal with situations.

      • Are you saying that God is playing 'hide and seek' with us? If so, then I think you're unto something.
