UPDATED: Man shot, several robbed by gangsters in Monday night crime spree

Police are now searching for a gang of men who went on a robbery spree last night, shooting one of their victims in the process.

The hoodlums first struck in Bocage, robbing a man and shooting him in the leg.

Minutes later, the gunmen were on Waterworks road robbing two people.

And the criminals continued their showcase, robbing several people in Bisee and Chabot (near Bocage), all occurring about 10 minutes apart.

Sources say the robbers were suspected of using a stolen motor vehicle with a fake licensed plate number.

It is believed that four men carried out the robberies, all were masked and at least two were armed.

  3. Things are so out of hand now, we law abiding citizens are forced to carry weapons on us. If persons reach a point where they have to go on a robbery rampage, this means 2 things; we are unstable in this country and persons are getting frustrated or we have some serious lazy people who wants to earn fast money. I think we have both come to think of it...

    • Unbelievable,
I don't look at the country being unstable. I see lazy people trying to get money the easy way, by robbing people who earn their money the right, law abiding way.

  4. Everybody is shouting shoot them, kill them, flog them, jail them. Who are the police going to do these things to? Is it your brother, son , or cousins. What St. Lucians are actually saying lets kill anybody it doesn't matter who. Because it is a no brainer that police can't stop crime since they are not on the scene.

What they should be insisting is that the police double up their efforts at patrols to disourage crime and implement better forensics at investigating cime in order to solve them.
How could you ask the police to shoot someone who they have not found. Fools Fools.
We have totally absolved the police of their responsibilties what we are asking is for them to just kill because since they cannot do the work properly.

Hope i don't see you all on TV when death comes knocking at your door.

    • You do the crime, you suffer the reprecussion. Thieves, murderers shouldn't matter, could be a brother, sister or whatever. Should NOT have been doing the crime in the first place. Somehow, the thieves are the ones it seem who get sympathy, instead of the victims.

  5. Yes "Whatever" lets hope at the time you or any of your kids or family is wearing what even resembles a green shirt. FOOl.

    • I think you missed the point of my post. I am actually saying that these calls of "shoot first" are stupid. The example I gave shows that. I apologize if I was not clear enough.

  6. So we no longer need a court system - let the police decide and shoot on the spot. Imagine this: I get robbed, I give a description of the robber as wearing a green shirt. Later that evening you are observed "acting suspiciously" (running down the side of the road)while wearing a green shirt. No need for an arrest, trial, or anything else. BOOM!

  7. When they have lawyers lime Mary Francis on their side it's easy they know you cannot shoot them for trespassing on your property human rights only apply to them and not law abiding citizens!

    • well we should be asking our government to even the playing field by investing more money in our legal system. let the DPP office be attractive to those young brilliant lawyers who seem to be getting the criminals off the hook. or maybe we should have it established as law a certain number of police officers receiving first class detective training.. this could go a long way in correcting the current situation

  8. Frustration.....before url talk about shooting dem the government should try an put something in place to help Decrease the high unemployment rate especially among youth to many young people have nun doin and u noe what they say "an idle mind is the devils play ground "..... Don't get me wrong I don't support thieves although I wouldn't mind if they were robbing banks and other establishments of that sort instead of civilian

    • Okkkkkayyyy...so when they rob the banks and other establishments..who do you think ultimately pays for it?...

      (0)(0)

    • Shakur, there is something wrong with your way of thinking. If they rob the banks, they are still stealing ppl's money. That's besides the fact the money is insured. They rob banks, it's reported and gets on the news. News spread, St. Lucia will be labeled as a place where bank robberies occur. Come on now.

      • Employment is a problem WORLD wide. Little St. Lucia is not, nor will it be, on the forefront of decreasing unemployment. Ppl fail to realise this. No party in St. Lucia can or will decrease the unemployment rate until the worlds ecomony gets better. Then and only then will it trickle down and eventually get to us small islands. Tourisim is our main money-maker right now, but with these robberies, shootings, etc, etc happening, it's reported on the worlds stage. St. Lucia gets a bad rep, tourist don't come, that inturns affects the ppl who benefit from the tourism industry. It's a cycle. When one thing is the cycle goes wrong, it affects EVERYTHING. Lets start reporting crimes, whether the criminal is a family member or not, take back our streets, schools and such. Parents, discipline your children; be a parent first, a best friend to them second.

    • my people we does be too fast to ask for police to shoot people, instead we should be asking the police to do better police work. conduct their investigations in a manner that when these cases get to court they are not dismissed for lack of evidence or from shoddy police work. a large part of the back log of cases are due to the fact that cases can't stand the legal scrutiny needed to convict someone... our police have already demonstrated that they are excellent shots and are quite adept at the physical needs of the policing the part that is needed is more mind work and table work to ensure that criminals get jail time and dont do crimes and are out to roam the road because the police botched the case.

  11. the criminals have guns everywhere doing shit and it is so difficult for a law abiding citizen to get a licensed firearm to protect himself, family, business and property

    (0)(0)

  12. Police are being investigated so the criminals are taking full advantage. soon the police will not respond to any reports of criminal activities

  13. Whoever wants to run the country needs to try and sort this out properly. Crimes like that should be 20 years inside.

    (0)(0)

    • Those criminals deserve to be shot... and no more questions asked of the police for doing their work. Criminals must not be allowed to rule or scare off citizens.
