Man robbed at gunpoint in Castries

A male resident of New Village, Castries was robbed of one gold chain and cash totaling over $400 at around 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1.

Reports are that the unidentified man was about to park his vehicle at his home, when he was held up by two masked gunmen.

The man did not put up any resistance, but allowed the bandits to take his belongings and escape freely.

There have been several reports of gunshots being fired in the area, and most recently a house was burgled in the community.

  2. Guys..we need to understand the basic meaning of "human rights" its not just the defending of rights of criminals, it is the basic right or freedom to which ALL humans are considered to be entitled..one's fundamental right...the right to justice...not condoning what our "criminals" in society are doing or have done..but it could happen to any one the ordinary man...the abuse of any citizen suspects or prisoners by the police, by anyone whatsoever are human rights issues right there...you can be charged for a simple act based on someone's given statement that he/she think or say its you may not be you...but this is where your human rights come in...it could happen to anyone of us..just a point..

  9. I hope they bring back Vernon Francois, the only man who did a better job than the rest.

This thief is a coward, why did he put on a mask. He should show his face let the police deal with him. Coward.!!!

Mary Francis - Your mouth is shut on this matter.....

You should ask them to stop these acts so that the police and stop too. And this is what the police is for in any country to try to stop crimes.

  10. Mary Francis...I understand what your role/profession defines.Yes you're a "Human Rights attorney" you basically see to it that the rights of "criminals" are not trampled on and that they receive fair and impartial justice. But you should also urge them same would be criminals to desist from terrorising society. Not only when the cops full their ass with some bullets you should be vocal!

  11. Do you guys have to report every crime that happens on this island? what is the motive here? There are some things that is not news worthy especially for the internet. Lets try to put out a few more positive articles because I'm sure plenty of robberies happen everyday
