The Tobago leg of the International Tennis Federation’s junior tournament served off on Saturday. Three Saint Lucians are now in the main draw of the boys and girls 14 and under category.
Among the girls, Saint Lucia’s sole competitor, recent Coca Cola / LIME champion Meggan William breezed though 4-0, 4-0 in her first match, over Trinidad and Tobago’s Abigail Jones. In round two, the Leon Hess Comprehensive student beat Trinidad and Tobago’s Solange Skeene 4-1, 4-0.
Next up for Meggan will be her Coke final opponent, Trinidad and Tobago’s Osenyonye Nwokolo.
For the boys, Aidan Bousquet and Nicholas St John also wasted no time in sending their opponents packing.
In the main draw, Nicholas St John was set to face Andre Crowford of Trinidad and Tobago. Aidan Bousquet was to meet Jordon Beaton of Guyana.
Adriel Bousquet, Saint Lucia’s reigning Junior Sportsman Of The Year, lost out in the opening round of the under-18 boys competition.
