CASTRIES, St. Lucia: – In what is expected to be an historical milestone since its formation in 2010, the Lucian People’s Movement (LPM) is set to deliver its very first national address on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
The focus of the address primarily concerns Saint Lucia’s journey and struggle to attain economic prosperity since its independence in 1979, including a very critical look at the island’s existing system of government and politics, the political rights of the people of Saint Lucia, and the many structural, political, and psychological impediments that have hindered the island’s rise to economic prominence and social stability.
The address, which will be delivered by Therold Prudent, the political leader of the LPM, is designed to inform Saint Lucians of the way forward for the Lucian People’s Movement in 2013 and beyond.
Prudent is expected to make a direct appeal for national unity, but will also challenge all citizens both at home and abroad that the time has come to take serious stock of where the nation is headed.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, the national address will be aired on Radio Caribbean International, Radio Hot FM and Radio Free Iyanola at 12:15 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.
The entire transcript will be available for immediate release at 7 pm that evening.
