The seminar takes place this week, May 15 -16, at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and will include a technical tour of LUCELEC’s Cul De Sac Power Station.
Wärtsilä is a global leader in complete life-cycle power solutions for the energy and marine markets. Several of the engines at LUCELEC’s Cul de Sac Power Station were manufactured by and purchased from Wärtsilä.
The technical seminar is an annual event, hosted by Wärtsilä, with participants from around the region.
Participants meet to engage Wärtsilä technical and sales personnel to exchange information and experiences on using Wärtsilä engines and hear from Wärtsilä about new developments in their products and in the industry.
The seminar location is rotated each year, preferably to an island where a utility customer is interested in co-hosting.
LUCELEC has 10 participants, mostly from the Generation Department, attending the seminar. LUCELEC will make a presentation to the seminar which will trace the history and development of the company’s generating infrastructure, the relationship with Wärtsilä, LUCELEC’s renewable energy efforts to date and plans for the future.
The LUCELEC Cul De Sac Power Station has previously been awarded by Wärtsilä the designation of the Best Maintained Wärtsilä Diesel Power Plant in the world.
