LPM mourns the loss of “Teacher Pam”
Teacher Pam.
Teacher Pam.

PRESS RELEASE – The very sad news yesterday of Teacher Pam’s passing may have shattered my morning, but it did not in any way erase my personal recollection and appreciation for the enormous contribution which she made to Gros Islet and its people over the years.

As an educator who helped to shape the early lives of so many young people in the classroom, I believe that her involvement in the area of community development was equally passionate.

As a child growing up in Gros Islet, I was always inspired by her community spirit, and, years later, I would have the privilege of working with her on a committee which was charged with the responsibility for planning a series of activities in celebration of Gros Islet’s elevation to township in 1985.

I will truly miss Teacher Pam, with whom I had a very close relationship over the years; but, most of all, I will miss the frankness of her admonishments to me on matters pertaining to my family’s well-being.

Farewell, fair daughter of Gros Islet. May you rest in peace, Amen.
