LPM leader unperturbed by Clarke’s belittling

Leo Clarke, Secretary of the St. Lucia Labour Party

Therold Prudent, leader of the Lucian People’s Movement (LPM), said that he isn’t surprised by Leo Clarke, secretary of the St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP), combative belittling of him and the LPM after the disclosure of the results of a simple online survey that questioned the effectiveness of Prime Minister Kenny Anthony’s leadership.

Prudent said that he understands the reason for Clarke’s passionate outburst, given that he has more to lose than any other member of his party now that the SLP is in power.

He said that with the permanency of Clarke’s position as general secretary for more than 15 years and Kenny Anthony’s position as leader for the past 17 years, the SLP has become a party of good ol’ boys.

He added that while the permanency of the SLP’s leadership is no business of the LPM, Saint Lucians should be reminded of 2006 when, on the eve of the general election, the leadership of the SLP sought to mislead the nation and influence the outcome by authorizing the release of a bogus poll showing that the party was headed to victory with a commanding 14–3 majority. The results, as we all know, are etched in the annals of Saint Lucian electoral history.

The SLP’s reaction to LPM’s online poll demonstrates the hypocrisy and self-righteousness of a party that will do whatever it takes to retain power.

Prudent concluded by saying that while the SLP may delude itself into believing that it has a monopoly on power and that no one should listen to the LPM given its status as a smaller opposition party, the LPM is convinced that the people are much wiser than the SLP’s permanent leadership.

Therefore, the LPM, unperturbed by the SLP’s belittling, intends to one day give our country the government it truly deserves.
LPM is here to stay!

  2. Common the labour hacks. You guys are taking this thing to far. It simply shows me that SLP hacks are very annoyed at Prudent, but the issue is not Prudent. He is only the messenger. So labour take heed to the message cause we are very much not happy with your leader right now.

  3. A very angry and undignified response from Leo Clarke.Instead of demonstrating such anger because the results of the on-line survey revealed the incompetence of his leader he should conduct one,ask similar questions and publish the results.

But of course, most st.lucians had arrived at a similar conclusion since the middle of last year. Some had made that decision much, much, earlier. In fact, seven or eight years ago.

  5. Prudent you are one of the biggest jackasses I have ever known. You did a stupid little highly unscientific poll online and you are trying to make political mileage with that?!! And you tell me that you are serious???? What an idiot...

    • I dont think you can blame Mr. Prudent and the LPM for this. If the SLP was not the bigger jackass the poll would come and go and we would all move on. Seem to me that LPM come out the winner on this because of SLP stupidity. LPM set the trap and the SLP walk right in.

  12. lucian to the bone

Prudent just shut the hell up ok. If you want to be in the political arena, leave your high chair in the USA and come to battle on the ground. Saint Lucians are not impressed with the nonsense that you continue to spew online. Put your money where your mouth is COWARD

    • In your mouth LPM is not there to say.

    • The Guy is St Lucian, so his high chair is in St Lucia. Yes there is something they call an electronic poll.I have tested on posted by the Americans, and it did not accept my voting because I am not in America. My point is that it may not be full proof like any other poll but there are a high level of restrictions. Would you be happy if the poll showed the opposite?
