PRESS RELEASE – A boundary studded 142 by national youth player Dane Edward along with a well compiled 95 from Jard Goodman, made sure that the Lotteries U19 trophy was heading nowhere but to Gros Islet.
Winning the toss and batting, the Gros Islet batsmen flayed the South Castries bowlers to all parts of the Mindoo Phillip Park, as they rattled up 323/4.
With this imposing total before them, the South Castries lads never really threatened as they folded for 94.
Adlil Barlow 26 and Nixon Edmund 23 were the only scores of note. Renee Montoute 3/34, Simeon Gerson and Dane Edward 2 wickets each, undermined the south Castries batting.
One match was played in the Mindoo Phillip Div 1 competition over the last weekend. Mabouya Valley defeating South Castries by 6 wickets.
