PRESS RELEASE – The Right Honourable Lord Michael Howard Q.C., Patron of the British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, together with its President, Mr. John Kennedy and officers, including C.E.O., Dr. Ian Kelly, Mrs. Pauline Wade, Mr. Mandish Singh & Mr. George Alcindor, concluded his visit to Saint Lucia following meetings with senior officials of both the Government and Opposition.
At a meeting with the Honourable Emma Hippolyte, Minister for Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, Lord Howard had the opportunity to explore current and future opportunities for British investors into Saint Lucia and to reaffirm his commitment to leading the Chamber’s efforts in this regard.
Lord Howard and the BCCC Saint Lucia Delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the Government of Saint Lucia’s investment objectives during a call on Mr. McHale Andrew, C.E.O. of Invest Saint Lucia, including the organisations forecasts and key economic indicators. Discussions were held in relation to investment priorities and the range of incentives currently available to new capital providers.
The Right Honourable Lord Michael Howard Q.C. was briefed by the Leader of the United Workers’ Party, Mr. Allen Chastanet during an hour long meeting at which the Opposition Party Leader discussed economic and investment strategy and the UWP priorities and program for economic growth.
Mrs. Annie McGhee, the Resident British Commissioner of the British High Commission to Saint Lucia gave a dinner for The Right Honourable Lord Michael Howard and the British Caribbean Chamber of Commerce Delegation at the Residence, which was also attended by the Hon. Emma Hippolyte, Minister of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, Ms. Esther Browne-Weeks, President of St Lucia Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dr. Didicus Jules, the Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, Mrs. Karolin Troubetzkoy, President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and Dr. Ernest Hilaire PhD., Chairman of St Lucia Citizenship Investment Program.
