PRESS RELEASE – With Carnival 2014 less than two weeks away, thousands of revellers are eagerly preparing to hit the road. The good news is that St. Lucia and the Caribbean’s leading telecommunications provider, LIME is once again throwing its full support behind the celebrations.

LIME has put together a sponsorship package of nearly $200,000 for this year’s Carnival festivities.

The company has provided financial, telecommunications and promotional support to reinging Band Of The Year, Rituals, along with Outkast Revellers and Toxik Nation Carnival bands, and has supported Carnival celebrations in Canaries and Dennery. South Calypso Tent and De Soca-Lypso Revue received sponsorship support from LIME, on the way to fielding several entrants in the Calypso Monarch finals.

LIME has once again formed a dynamic duo with 2012 Soca Monarch, Kwency Griffith, aka Mr Pringles or Superman. The popular performer and radio personality graces LIME 4G billboards and advertisements, because of course, Superman moves at 4G speed! LIME also continues to support fellow soca star and LIME Ambassador, Teddyson John and backed his U4RIA concert, featuring Talpree, Tian Winter and Rupert ‘Rupee’ Clarke. Once again, LIME has come on board for Fantastic Friday, with the Wave’s Outrageous Sexy In Black, featuring Teddyson, Ricky T, Fayann Lyons-Alvarez and Bunji Garlin.

In between all of that, LIME also found time to support Line Jam 2014, organised by Mas Action The Band, as well as Amnesia, hosted by Toxik Nation at LIME Corinth. Now, with Carnival Monday and Tuesday beckoning, the company is looking forward to big things on the road, and plenty of fun and excitement for revellers in the island’s biggest cultural showcase.

“For us, it’s not just about giving money and material benefits. Our investment in Carnival is an injection into the country’s economy in ways that allow many to benefit from the festivities, at a time when the economy really needs it,” said Corporate Communications Executive, Terry Finisterre.

“Best of all we’ve made communication easier and more affordable with One Rate for calling! Our customers can jump, talk and text away with the peace of mind that their mobile credit will last much longer and they will pay the lowest rates in the market. LIME’s superfast 4G service also makes it easier for Carnival fans to share photos and videos in real time and at blazing speeds!” he added.

This year, LIME Saint Lucia and St Vincent & the Grenadines teamed up for a Jump The Island promotion that saw a lucky customer getting the chance to head over to Vincy Mas and then jump in Saint Lucia Carnival with Rituals.

Over the past five years LIME has contributed well over $1.2 million in cash and kind, including telecommunications and advertising support to various Carnival stakeholders.
