PRESS RELEASE – One of the major sponsors of Creole Heritage Month (CHM) – LIME – made a cheque presentation to the Folk Research Centre at Mount Pleasant on Thursday September 18, at 10:00am.
LIME has been a major sponsor of CHM for the past four years and was unavoidably absent at the recent Press launch of Creole Heritage Month 2014 held last Thursday at Mount Pleasant at which two other sponsors of CHM made cheque presentations.
At the Presentation, Acting Executive Director of the Folk Research Centre Hilary La Force spoke about the unflinching commitment of LIME in supporting activities of Creole Heritage Month and Jounen Kwéyòl as a whole. He cited that the support given by LIME has been of tremendous assistance over the years and has supplemented in a big way the cost of hosting the various activities.
LIME Representative Sharlene Jn Baptiste, indicated that the Company was pleased once again to be of assistance to the Folk Research Centre, the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries and the host communities of Anse-La-Raye, Vieux-Fort and Dennery in the planning and execution of the various activities of Creole Heritage Month and Jounen Kwéyòl.
Ms. Jn Baptiste went on to say that LIME has increased its contribution in 2014 in cash and in kind to a total amount of $50,000. She went on to indicate that the company’s employees will be present at many of the planned events in order to lend assistance in whatever manner possible.
