LIME is known as a leader in the telecommunications industry, so it should come as no surprise to know that the company supports excellence in various spheres of endeavour.
The latest such collaboration comes as Team LIME won this year’s Rotary Charity Golf Tournament, more than earning fulsome praise from their sponsors.
The team of well-known dental surgeon Dr. Kent Glace, Paul Marshall and Joan Paul walked away with the coveted Crystal Putter award, topping some 30 teams, all of them sponsored by local businesses. LIME has been a longstanding team sponsor and prize donor of this competition, which this year was held Saturday last at the Saint Lucia Golf and Country Club, preceded by a Charity Auction and Cocktail Party.
The Charity Golf Tournament is the biggest event in the Rotary calendar, drawing large crowds and golf enthusiasts, business executives, and friends and family. Its aim is to raise funds to provide support to community-based projects. This year the Rotary Club’s focus is on promoting diabetes awareness and prevention in collaboration with a number of community groups and organizations.
“LIME is a winning company,” says LIME Saint Lucia General Manager, Chris Williams. “We are proud to be associated not just with the Rotary Golf Tournament, but to have backed the victorious team on this occasion. As part of our community outreach efforts, we’re happy to support charitable organizations like the Rotary Club. Three cheers to the LIME Team on their impressive victory! They have certainly made us proud. Kudos to the other winners and teams, and also the organizers for an excellent tournament.”
In addition to its sponsorship, LIME has partnered with Rotary to provide 60 laptops to schools throughout the north of the island.
