

As a precautionary procedure, emergency services were on standby and the landing was uneventful with no injury to passengers or crew.
All of the affected passengers have since been accommodated on other LIAT services.
An examination of the aircraft by the company’s maintenance staff found that a small electronic component had failed resulting in a burning smell.
The affected component was replaced and the aircraft underwent various checks as stipulated by the manufacturer’s maintenance manual and has since been returned to service.
