PRESS RELEASE – LIAT – The Caribbean Airline will on October 16, 2015mark 59 years of continuous service.

For its birthday, LIAT is offering a 59% discount on tickets from 13:00 on Wednesday October 14 until 23:59 on Friday October 16.

The discount is not combinable with other promotional discounts currently on offer. Tickets purchased under the birthday discount must be used between October 14 and November 30, 2015.

Tickets can be booked on the website – liat.com, through the Call Centre, Airport Ticketing Offices or through your local Travel Agent.  Seats are subject to availability and promotional terms and conditions apply.

Chief Executive Officer David Evans said LIAT is honoured to be of service to the Caribbean region for 59 years and it is only fitting to give back to the region with the 59% off 59th Birthday Discount.

LIAT, then an acronym for Leeward Island Air Transport Ltd., was founded in Montserrat in October 1956 by St. Kitts born Sir Frank Delisle.

Mr. Evans said LIAT has grown over the years and is now the main mode of transportation for people travelling between the islands.

“From a single Piper Apache aircraft in 1956, we now use nine state of the art ATR 600 series aircraft to fly thousands of people a year to 17 destinations around the region,” Mr. Evans said.

“Our loyal and dedicated staff have built an airline that, after 59 years, is still committed to the region; an airline that focuses on providing convenient air transport connections to the countries we serve.

“We thank you for your support over our last 59 years and look forward to celebrating many more years with you on board,” Mr. Evans added.

LIAT operates more than 500 flights per week from Puerto Rico in the north to Guyana in the south – providing the most extensive inter-island network of any carrier in our region.  Last year LIAT carried over three quarters of a million passengers across its route network.

LIAT staff members will appear on television and radio programmes in Antigua, Barbados and Guyana throughout this week to share general information about the company including our routes.

Viewers and listeners will also get the opportunity to interact with the LIAT team members on air.

  1. Happy Birthday my girl... lol see how sad not many people even bothered to comment as a past liat employee she was good to me I got to travel the caribbean islands and see alot, the real issue was with the management and some of the staff who worked there... the mentality was that of I have a job and alot of corruption in Antigua .... Its a good company just needs to change some of the staff and the way most think about the service the offer to the general public...

  2. The only good thing I can say about LIAT is that it has an outstanding SAFETY record but customer service is indeed lousy.
