Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Festival Parade of the Bands to be held in Arts District, downtown Las Vegas

(PRESS RELEASE) – The Board of Directors of Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Festival Inc. is happy to announce that the 2017 Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Carnival Parade of The Bands will be held on Saturday October 28, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm in the Arts District downtown Las Vegas.

Established in 2015, Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Festival Inc. is a cultural development community organization in the state of Nevada dedicated to promoting the contributions of the Latin, Caribbean, West Indian community to the progress and development of society through Carnival Weekend which is a celebration of our community’s heritage, music, food and arts in the city of Las Vegas.

“This festive occasion”, said Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, “will highlight the significant and wonderful cultural contributions people from Latin America, the Caribbean and the West Indies greatly add to our Las Vegas community.”

“We are very excited about this year’s Parade of the Bands”, said Las Vegas Latin Caribbean Festival Founder and President, Cindy Leonie Blackshire, “the outpouring response from our local community in Las Vegas and outside has been amazing”, continued Ms. Blackshire.

Carnival Weekend Experience features a host of parties, international celebrities and award-winning Latin, Caribbean, West Indian recording artists and costume designers displaying the variety of colors of the region.

“Our team of volunteers have been working around the clock in recruiting more volunteers and engaging with partners for this year’s festivities”, said Ms. Blackshire.

Parade of the Bands will spotlight carnival revelers dressed in carnival costumes throughout the route in the Arts District dancing to sweet sounds of Soca, Calypso, Salsa, Reggae, Chutney and Punta among other musical genres. Carnival Weekend headliners include Shurwayne Winchester from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamm Boyzz Band from the Caribbean country of St. Eustacious, Atlanta Caribbean Caribbean Carnival Moko Jumbies and more entertainment to be added.
