(PRESS RELEASE) – The Landings Resort and Spa has reaffirmed its support to Tri St Lucia for the fifth consecutive year.
A strong and vocal advocate for health and wellness, the resort has backed the triathlon which forecasts a record number of competitors and visitors to one of the most highly anticipated international events on the island.
In a small ceremony to launch the event, the team behind the event represented by Joseph ‘Reds’ Perreira, started by reiterating his pleasure at the support and commitment of the sponsors, including The Landings Resort and Spa.
For him, this event represents a marketing opportunity for not only the sponsors, but for St Lucia on a whole to bolster further development in the Sports Tourism sector.
Slated for November 19th 2017, the triathlon meet is an endurance race with swimming, biking and running aspects over three distances.
Individuals and teams participating in the relay, will hit the warm Caribbean Sea waters from the Landings Resort, bike through the hilly terrain of Cap Estate, and culminate the race with a 2.5km 5km or 10km run depending on the category.
British Olympic Legend Daley Thompson is scheduled to lead master classes leading up to the event.

This event follows the resort’s Staff Health Fair and activities with the St Lucia Diabetes & Hypertension Association, aimed at raising awareness in health issues in staff, and providing care where possible along with prevention resources.
