PRESS RELEASE – Ladera Resort, the acclaimed “romantic paradise” situated between the majestic Pitons, recently spearheaded a raffle at Soufriere Creole Jazz and raised EC$5,000. The resort partnered with a local charity, Living Water Community, to raise funds to feed the hungry in Soufriere.
During the entertainment show, which celebrated 25 years of the Saint Lucia Arts & Jazz Festival, Ladera and volunteers from Living Water Community, a Catholic charity that works closely with the Soufriere Soup Kitchen, worked diligently, with a “fun plea” ignited on stage by the Chairman of Ladera, Holly Scott, who announced that all of the money raised will go to Living Waters Community to support their mission to feed the poor.
The Grand Prize, an All-Inclusive Weekend for Two at Ladera Resort in Soufriere, was drawn by Haitian rapper, musician and actor, Wyclef Jean. The winner, an elated Debbie Alexander, who works with homeless people in New York said, “I bought the ticket because I believe in the cause that Ladera is championing. I never thought I would actually win, and get a chance to meet Wyclef Jean!”
The raffle created a fresh vibe and excitement at Soufriere Creole Jazz, and Ladera has announced the raffle as the first of an inaugural event.
