La Clery Development Committee donates school supplies

PRESS RELEASE – On Friday 19th August 2016, the La Clery Development Committee presented its School donation to children in the community at the Vide Boutielle Cultural Club.

Numerous School bag packs, pencils, crayons and other supplies were presented to the recepients.

The School Supply donations relied heavily on the efforts of members of the LDC and assistance from Mrs. Jessica Gregg Moonie, a past resident of La Clery. The group focused on students who experienced difficulties in obtaining some of their school necessities that will enable them to commence the new academic school year in 2016.

Over 15 students between the ages of 6 and 15 were elated having received their school supplies. This has been another unique and special way that the group has done something to help their community.

The La Clery Development Committee remains committed to supporting parents and their goals of providing quality education to their child/ren. We believe that education is vitual to cultivating and sustanining any society.

The committee strives on the notion that, it is our generation’s responsibilty to ensure that Youth are given the opportunity to contribute to the development of our beautiful Saint Lucia.

In additon to the donation, the La Clery Development Committee will continue to support Youth and Community Development as one of the group’s objectives is to stay committed to improving the life of the people in the community in one way or the other.
