KNOW YOUR LAWS: Carrying offensive weapons


  1. A person who without reasonable excuse, proof of which lies on him or her, carries with him or her in any public place in any city, town or village any cutlass, sword, machete or bayonet, unless it is carried in a sheath or other covering, is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $1,000 or to imprisonment for one year.
