Karib Cable awards top student with laptop computer

Karib Cable continues to make a difference in the lives of St. Lucians through education, the environment, health and wellness, culture, community projects and sports.

Under the umbrella of its corporate social responsibility program, “Making A Difference”, the top computer systems engineering graduate of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) was awarded a laptop computer with one year of free Karib Cable high speed broadband internet service.

On December 2, the SALCC held its 2012 graduation ceremony on its campus grounds. Mervin Felix’s outstanding performance was recognized with the award for the highest achievement in his program of study with a GPA of 3.25.

Head of Department for the Computer Systems Engineering program, Mrs. Annie Fealy Emmanuel, was thrilled to present this award to Mr. Felix.

“He is an outstanding student, and I know he is deserving of this and I am so proud of him,” Mrs. Emmanuel stated.

Karib Cable’s General Manager, Ms. Joya Martin, who is an avid supporter of educational advancement, emphasized the positive impact this new laptop and free internet service will have on Mervin, providing him with an important means of improving his technological knowledge and skills.
