The aspiring chefs will compete to claim the title and be recognised as the No.1 junior chef on the island.
The show, which was created by Seashell Consulting Inc., is being produced with Cap Maison Resort and Spa and title sponsor BOKA GROUP, owner of Belvedere Estate. It will include seven challenges in seven episodes on Saint Lucia’s number one entertainment channel CHOICE TV (Channel 39 on LIME and Channel 50 on FLOW).
BOKA GROUP, which recently acquired the 234-acre Belvedere Estate (Anse Mahaut) at Belvedere, Soufriere, is committed to community and youth development in Saint Lucia. The company has a strong track record of community development in the countries where it holds investments.
According to organisers: “We want to help create real opportunities within the creative industries for young people on the island and this is a unique chance for them to learn from the best chefs here and abroad. We also believe that like Chef Nina Compton, the winner will inspire his/her peers to pursue their dreams. There is a lot of potential on this island, but not enough avenues to express it. We are committed to youth development and very pleased to bring this opportunity to the young people of Saint Lucia and to the homes of all Saint Lucians.”
The competition uses a progressive elimination format.
Cap Maison Resort and Spa will be home to this fierce battle to win several attractive and career-pacing prizes and experiences. However, several episodes will be filmed against the backdrop of stunning and historic locations on the island including Belvedere Estate.
Saint Lucia’s leading Michelin-trained chefs and restaurateurs Craig Jones of The Cliff at Cap; Xavier Ribot, owner of Blue Olive; Orlando Satchell, owner of Orlando’s and Bobo Bergstrom, owner of Fire Grill, The Edge and Starfish, will mentor the contestants and form the judging panel. Only the best aspiring chef will be left standing.
