Junia Haynes has won the title of Ave Maria Girls Infant School Mothers Queen, and is now an official ambassador for the school.
Haynes topped six mothers to win the May 18 pageant, which is in its third year
Each contestant is a mother of a student who attends the school. Haynes is the mother of a grade two student there.
Contestants who also impressed the judges were Emaline Hunte in the first-runner-up position, second-runner-up Princess Jn.Baptiste and Kashina Vitalis – third-runner-up. The other contestants were Melina St. Luce-Edmunds Verna Alcide and Aniceta Justin.
The school’s administration has dubbed the event a “huge success”. They boasted that they got a “packed” Cultural Centre, where the event took place.
The principal and staff in a press release extended their gratitude to the supporters and business sponsors of the event.
The proceeds from the pageant will help the school execute projects.
