Set in the well appointed farm of Plant Grow Eat in Babonneau, contestants had the challenge of preparing an award winning dish with no heat, only fruits and vegetables from the farm and incorporating the secret ingredient; yellowfin tuna.
Plant Grow Eat operates a farm to plate concept, producing vegetables and fruits all year round.
The products can be found at all major supermarkets and hotels as well as a retail venue outside the Rodney Bay Aquatic Centre on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 2;30 to 5:30pm. Developed and managed by Lloyd Fanus and Peter and Pattie Dillon, the farm runs on a profit share and worker ownership model.
According to Peter Dillon, Plant Grow Eat, ‘being able to work with the young chefs on this project is in line with our mission of promoting the skill building in young people.
We hope they take this experience as a learning tool and keep using local products to create amazing dishes. ’
