St. Lucia’s Janelle Desir will compete at the Miss Carival 2013 pageant in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on June 28, 2013.
She will go against nine other regional delegates at the event which is being staged under the theme ’28 Years of Exquisite Pageantry’.
Ahead of the big show, the contestants will be involved with a number of activities. A talent preview is scheduled for June 24 and a ‘sashing’ and meeting with St. Vincent media for June 25. This will be followed by a dress rehearsal.
The ladies will visit various business places and meet the country’s prime minister and members of his cabinet on June 26.
An official motorcade will be held later that day around Kingstown.
Whoever is crowned winner will receive US$4,300 from the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC). The first runner-up will receive US$1,300 while the second runner-up gets US$700.
The other competing countries are Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
